Voici le traité signé par les 2 parties qui stipulent :

 

« Au nom d’Allah, Le Tout Miséricordieux, Le Très Miséricordieux,

Voici ce que garantit le Serviteur de Dieu, Umar, Emir des Croyants, au peuple d’Aelia Capitolina en terme de protection. Il s’engage à protéger leurs personnes, leurs biens, leurs églises et leurs croix, le malade d’entre eux comme le bien-portant, ainsi qu’à toute leur communauté. Leurs églises ne seront ni investies ni détruites. Rien ne leur sera ôté, ni à leurs propriétés ni à leurs croix ni à leurs biens. Aucune conversion ne sera forcée et aucune oppression ne sera réalisée.

Ne résidera aucun Juif avec eux à Aelia. Les habitants d’Aelia devront payer le tribut comme les habitants des autres villes. Ils devront en expulser les Byzantins et les voleurs. Quiconque d’entre eux partira aura la garantie de la sécurité de sa personne et de ses biens jusqu’à ce qu’il parvienne à sa destination. Quiconque d’entre eux restera à Aelia sera en sécurité et il devra, comme les habitants d’Aelia, s’acquitter du tribut.

Ceux, parmi les habitants d’Aelia, qui désirent rejoindre les Byzantins avec leurs biens, abandonnant leurs églises et leurs croix, auront la garantie de la sécurité de leur personne, de leurs églises et de leurs croix, jusqu’à ce qu’ils parviennent à leur destination.
